Rewa-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Rewa Superfast Express: New Weekly Service Proposal

Rewa, 11 July 2024 — In an effort to enhance connectivity between Rewa and Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (DADN), Indian Railways has proposed to run the Rewa-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Rewa Superfast Express. This new service will operate four days a week and cater to the growing travel demand between these important destinations.

Proposed Service Days and Schedule

The proposed schedule for the Rewa-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Rewa Superfast Express is as follows:

• From Rewa: Every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday
• From Dr. Ambedkar Nagar (DADN): Every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday

Train Composition

The train will consist of 22 coaches, including:

• 1 LWLRRM (Luggage and Guard's Compartment with Divyangjan Compartment)
• 1 LSRD (Second Class Guard's Compartment)
• 2 General Second Class Coaches (LS)
• 11 Sleeper Class Coaches (LSCN)
• 4 AC 3-Tier Coaches (LWACCN)
• 2 AC 2-Tier Coaches (LWACCW)
• 1 First AC Coach (LWFAC)

Route and Commercial Stops

The train will cover a distance of 864 km with proposed commercial stops at the following stations:

• Satna (STA)
• Maihar (MYR)
• Katni (KTE)
• Jabalpur (JBP)
• Pipariya (PPI)
• Itarsi (ET)
• Narmadapuram (NDPM)
• Rani Kamlapati (RKMP)
• Bhopal (BPL)
• Ujjain (UJN)
• Dewas (DWX)

Tentative Schedule

The tentative timings for the Rewa-Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Rewa Superfast Express are:

• From Rewa to DADN:
  • Departure from Rewa: 22:45
  • Arrival at DADN: 14:15 (next day)
• From DADN to Rewa:
  • Departure from DADN: 16:45
  • Arrival at Rewa: 08:15 (next day)

Traction and Maintenance

The train will be operated with electric traction throughout the journey, ensuring a smooth and efficient travel experience. Maintenance will be carried out in collaboration with the Rewa Base Passenger Car Depot (RBPC) in Rewa.

To accommodate the new service, the schedules of some existing trains will be modified:

• Train number 12919/12920 DADN-SVDK-DADN Malwa Express will be diverted via the NSZ-SHRN cord line, avoiding Bhopal station. The revised timings are:
  • 12919 DADN-SVDK:
    • SHRN: 16:58-17:00
    • NSZ: 17:20-17:30
    • BINA: 19:40-19:45
  • 12920 SVDK-DADN:
    • BINA: 05:40-05:45
    • NSZ: 07:30-07:40
    • SHRN: 08:05-08:07
• Train number 19344 CWA-INDB Panchvalley Express will be handed over to WR at SHRN at 08:58/09:00 instead of 08:48/08:50.
• Train number 20843/20845 will be handed over to WR at SHRN at 09:10 instead of 09:20.
• Train number 11753/11755 will arrive at Rewa at 08:20 instead of 08:55.
• Train number 02188 CSMT-Rewa Special will arrive at Rewa at 08:55 instead of 09:15.
• Train number 22103 LTT-AYC will be handed over to NCR at MKP at 09:20 instead of 09:30.
• Train number 15160 DURG-CPR will be handed over to NCR at MKP at 09:40 instead of 09:50.
