Indian Railways Increases General Coaches in BSB-INDB Express

Varanasi, 24 June 2024: In a major policy shift, the Indian Railways has announced the permanent addition of more general coaches to trains of popular routes, aiming to address widespread criticism regarding unauthorized travel in reserved compartments. This move comes after the recent election results and is seen as a response to public demand for better accessibility and accommodation for unreserved passengers. In Phase 1, few trains of busiest rail routes will be given additional general coaches and if the problem of unauthorised passenger still isn't resolved. Railway will plan additional trains on the routes.

    • 1 Luggage and Brake Van with Guard Cabin
    • 3 Sleeper Class Coaches
    • 5 AC 3 Tier Coaches
    • 1 Composite AC Coach (2 Tier and 3 Tier)
    • 4 AC 3 Tier Economy Coaches
    • 1 First Class AC Coach
    • 1 More Luggage and Brake Van
    • Total: 16 Coaches

  • New Coach Composition:

    • 1 Luggage and Brake Van
    • 2 General Second Class Coaches
    • 3 Sleeper Class Coaches
    • 5 AC 3 Tier Coaches
    • 1 Composite AC Coach
    • 4 AC 3 Tier Economy Coaches
    • 1 First Class AC Coach
    • 2 More General Coaches
    • 1 Additional Luggage and Brake Van
    • Total: 20 Coaches

    • From Indore: 26 June 2024
