South Railway has requested the Railway Board to allot three Vistadome coaches and two LHB rakes for the Madurai–Guruvayur–Madurai Express (Train No. 16327/16328). Vistadome coaches feature large glass windows and a transparent roof, offering passengers a better view of the scenery during their journey.

There has been a consistent demand from public representatives for Vistadome coaches on trains running through the Quilandy–Shoranur (QLN-SCT) section. In line with this, Railways had also recommended replacing one general coach with a Vistadome coach on the 16327/16328 Madurai–Guruvayur–Madurai Express.

Following the Railway Board's concurrence, the train was converted to an LHB rake with effect from July 26, 2026, making it possible to induct Vistadome coaches. However, on the Pudukkottai–Quilandy–Pudukkottai (PUU-QLN-PUU) section, the panoramic rear view may be partially obstructed for some parts of the journey.

The required coaches are currently available in the Chennai division, awaiting further movement. South Railway has requested the Railway Board to allot these coaches at the earliest so that passengers can benefit from this facility soon.
