The WAG-12B is a 12,000 HP (9 MW) twin-section electric locomotive manufactured by Alstom in partnership with Indian Railways at Madhepura, Bihar, for heavy-freight operations. Introduced in 2019, these powerful, \(25\text{\ kV}\) AC locomotives operate on Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFCs), hauling ~6,000-tonne loads at speeds up to \(120\text{\ km/h}\). As of late 2025, over 500 units are in service, significantly enhancing logistics efficiency.
